Assessing Officers
Meeting schedule for 2017

January 11 - 10:00am at the Crowne Plaza Lansing, 925 S Creyts Rd, Lansing, MI 48917.  The
program will be a presentation by Heather Frick, Executive Director of the State Tax Commission who
will be providing an update on assessing issues.  Following the program and lunch, a 4 hour renewal
course will start at 12:30pm.  Details are available on the Events Calendar page.  Please RSVP by

April 12 - 12:00pm to 2:30pm.  The location will be at the Air Zoo, 6151 Portage Rd, Portage MI
49002.Debby Ring will be speaking about MAA Education. Pasta Buffet Lunch, followed by Ms. Ring’s
presentation, MMAAO Meeting and an optional tour of Air Zoo.  More information and the reservation

June  14 - MMAAO outing and meeting.  Outing starts at 8am.  Meeting and lunch start at 1pm   The
location will be at Centennial Acres, 12485 Dow Rd, Sunfield MI 48890.  Len Kutschman from the
State Tax Commission will make a presentation. A steak dinner will be the main course with a
vegetarian option available with advance notice and request.  More information and the reservation

September 13 - 12:00pm at Coral Gables, 220 Water Street, Saugatuck, MI 49453.  The program will
be a presentation by Ron VanderVeeen covering 1) Managing a full tribunal appeal: What to do and
when to do it! 2) Granting a real or personal property exemption: Requirements beyond identifying as a

website.  The MMAAO is made up of assessing and equalization
personnel within District 2 of the Michigan Assessors Association.
